GWBA Mission Statement                Announcements

Founded on the principles that baseball  should be available to all players, of any skill ages 13 through 16, the Greater Woodstock Baseball Association was created to enable youth players from Woodstock, Bull Valley, Wonder Lake and other areas the opportunity to participate in recreational and or travel baseball.

The GWBA was formed by a group of dedicated local professionals with vast baseball, coaching and mentoring experience and with support of Little League. Thus, we are committed to providing all players whom have advanced from the Woodstock Little League or Lightning program, with the best baseball experience.

This age group of players was previously managed by Woodstock Little League and after several meetings and Board approval, Little League decided to focus on their core age group of players.

Next, based upon feedback from players, coaches and parents, each year we review and adjust our PONY, COLT and CABA programs to ensure the best program is offered. Moreover, we understand that sports plays an important part of developing youth and the GWBA is 100% committed to providing fair and open programs to all players.

However, to accomplish this important goal and understanding that we have no affiliation with the City of Woodstock or the Recreation Department, we must have parents willing and involved at all levels of the program who are committed to providing the best experience.

June 27, 2008--The GWBA PONY team, Managed by Coach Taylor makes the Championship Sweet 16 bracket after making a great late season run to knock out three other teams also trying to secure a spot.

After two scoreless innings, the GWBA team lost in the first round to a solid Lake Villa team!

Great season players and get ready for next season with 30 games and the Nippersink PONY Sweet 16 Championship and Silver brackets.
