Friends of the Library
BUY - A - BRICK
The
crumbling brick pavers have been removed from
our front walkway and replaced with a smooth
concrete surface. Because these bricks and the
memories they represent are very important, all
of the original engraved bricks that did not
crumble when removed have been stored with hopes
of returning them to their purchasers in the
spring. The original order forms have been
retained and will be used to contact the owners.
If you know anyone who has moved since they
purchased a brick, please contact
Roberta Thomas here.
Replacements for the original bricks will be
ordered, courtesy of the Friends of the
Grayslake Library, in a mini-brick format which
will be installed on walls inside the library,
out of reach of the weather, chemicals, and
thousand of footsteps. The Friends of the
Library will also sell new memorial bricks to
anyone who missed out on the first opportunity.
The price of a 1.5 x 3 inch brick is
$50 and a 3 x 3 inch brick will cost $100. Order
forms are available in the library literature
display in the lobby or at the Circulation Desk.
Wall space is limited so order early! The
deadline for orders is January 15.
A
dedication ceremony for the new memorial wall
will be held this spring. See our next
newsletter and the website for details.
